There was no comparable poll done for First Ladies at the time, but public opinion polling for the current First Lady Michelle Obama consistently measures her popularity strength between 66-70%. Former First Lady Hillary Clinton has received similar ratings. Long before polls were conducted other First Ladies were extremely popular across the country, including Martha Washington and Dolley Madison. In 1929 First Lady Grace Coolidge (pictured right) was named "one of America's greatest women". In 1948 First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was named the "Most Popular American" in a nationwide poll.
